A Leap to Peace and Sustainability Amidst Pandemic.

The Stockbridge American International School- Davao campus once again celebrated the annual International Education Week 2020 with the theme One in Mission for Peace and Sustainability: The #StockbridgeStudents voyage around the world but this time- virtually.

The event was a week-long celebration filled with activities that had immersed the Stockbridge Students intending to promote peace and sustainability in the Stockbridge Way.  The event started with a kick-off ceremony via Zoom. The ceremony exhibited the video of the said activity last year and the video teaser for this year's celebration. After having the kick-off, the staff received Overwhelming support and smiles from the students.

For the remaining days, the students participated in various activities to further enlighten them on the purpose of the event that is to be the agents of peace and sustainability, not to mention the understanding of the culture of different people across the globe.

For peace and sustainability, the students met the different peace ambassadors with a different focus like Wildlife protection, Nature Conservation, Climate Change, and Education naming a few. To better understand the concept of peace, the students also made a letter of peace to make us realized that despite the situation, we can still be at peace if we work together and respect one another.

To culminate the event, the school invited a guest speaker from South Korea Mr. Graham Salzer to deepen the concept of international Education. Our very own Madam Joji Ilagan Bian was also present to witness as the event comes to an end. Throughout the culminating activity, the school showcased the astonishing artworks and crafts of the students from Africa, Japan, China, France, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, and Thailand. A sense of fulfilment dominated the virtual field as smile of success took over the screen. Indeed, despite of the situation, the Stockbridge American international School continued to provide meaningful activities that would equip them to be future global leaders, needless to say it was a Leap to Peace and Sustainability which had kept us going amidst pandemic.
