 Career advancement lies to someone’s preparation for success and last October, 2018, the Joji Ilagan International Schools prepared an event where students get to plan for their future. 

The event was conducted to help the future hospitality leaders get ready for their future job-hunting preparation and in-reality check of how the industry works as well as to develop their knowledge and skills by the rally round of the invited guests; An international speaker, the President of Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (UK), Dr. David Hind who gave insights about the topic “Employability and Management Skills – Preparing for the World of Work”; and the Marketing Manager of the Blue Post Group and IChef alumnus, Mr. Chuck Alie Lim Gepaya who left the students in awe as he shared powerful tips on “Building a Positive Online Personal Brand”. 

The said event was hosted by Mr. Reymark Dela Cruz, a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management graduating student of JIB and Ms. Rejie Mae Caneta, a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management graduating student of ICHEF. 

Welcoming remarks was given by Ms. Lea Lorraine Elesis – the Supreme Student Government Internal Vice President of JIB and a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management student to warmly open the occasion. The whole crowd was at their peak of excitement as they get to meet the guests of the event introduced by Ms. Sally R. Reyes, JIB International Schools’ Corporate Dean and Ms. Anne Margaret Pelingon, JIB International Schools’ Program Coordinator. The guests shared their in-reality insight and know-how into how to survive in the world of work. An open forum followed as students enthusiastically raised their hands to ask their questions. A Plaque of Gratitude and token was given to each guest to show the gratefulness of every individual who listened to their inspiring talk. Pictures with the distinguished guests were taken right after. The event was officially closed by Ms. Gliza Mae Abid, the President of Les Junes Hotelier and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management graduating student of JIB. The ICHEF and JIB students gave their thanks to the Vice President for Education Development, Ms. Nicole Ilagan Hao Bian, to the committee who initiated the said event and most especially to the guests who gave them more knowledge and inspires them to do better. Truly, JIB International Schools produce globally competitive hospitality leaders who are truly international and truly global.
